Broadsheet map, 14 x 38 inches, printed both sides, the sections of the state broken and flanked by promotional and historical information for each particular section, verso profusely illustrated from line drawings. This copy has been marked by a previous owner, two routes in the Shenandoah Valley and 10 places of interest (from the Natural Bridge to Monticello and Ash Lawn) in the guide. The large map folded to narrow 12mo and enclosed in the publisher’s color illustrated slipcase (or sleeve). OCLC locates six copies (only Virginia in the state, only Dartmouth mentions the sleeve). Despite the markings, very good and quite scarce with the sleeve. Item #70808
