Ellsworth, (ME): 1826. Manuscript, written as if a broadside. Folio. One-page, approximately 150 words; included in the manuscript are the places around town where events will take place, starting times for the activities (exhibition of the animals and ploughing and hauling matches), information on the gathering places for the annual address, a dinner, and an exhibition of agricultural productions and manufactures. Addressed verso to Nathan Read in Belfast, Maine; Read (1759-1849) served in the U.S. House of Representatives from Massachusetts, 1800-1803, moving to Maine in 1807 where he was involved in civic affairs until his death. Folded for mailing (seal break to right edge, taking two words). Very good. Item #70512
