Camp Stewart, GA: 1941. Photograph, 11 x 14 inches, picturing the staff of the army hospital in four ranks standing on bleachers, the officers and NCOs in front, the kitchen staff in appropriate aprons, all the others in khakis. Fort Stewart was established in Liberty County, Georgia, near Savannah, as an anti-aircraft training center, growing as the needs of World War II activities increased, by late in the war serving as a POW camp, as well. All of those pictured in the photograph are identified in typescript, by rank and name, in the margin below the image. A little browning around the edges, but very good. Item #70103
