Singing in four-part harmony, the Hutchinson Family Singers became one of the most popular performing groups in the United States, taking up various social causes in their songwriting, including abolitionism, temperance, and women’s rights. The invitation is accompanied by a cabinet photograph of Abby, signed by her beneath her image and inscribed verso in January, 1892; and an autograph letter (12mo, 2-pages), Jan. 9, 1892, sending thanks for election to the Trinity Historical Society, signed by Abby Hutchinson Patton.
