Southern Pines, NC: Eddy’s Studio, nd [ca. 1920]. Hand-colored photograph, 8 1/8 x 15 7/8 inches, lettered in white ink, “Southern Pines, N.C.” in the lower left corner and “Eddy” in the lower right corner. Diagonal seven inch crack at center of the photo, abrasion upper left corner. Still a good copy of a rare photograph from the Eddy studio. Accompanied by four small format hand-colored photographic cards (all 4 x 6 inches, versos without printing) from Eddy’s Studio, one replicating the panorama image, the others of scenery along a country road around Southern Pines (one with an “Eddy’s studio stamp verso). Ellsworth C. Eddy (1882-1969) joined Edmond Merrow‘s Pinehurst studio in 1907, eventually setting up his own and working there through the mid1940s. The first with a tiny chip at the upper left corner, the others very good. For the lot of five photographs, Item #68588
