The Old Club of Detroit was founded in 1872 on Harsens Island in Lake St. Clair as a hunting and fishing retreat for its members; a golf course was begun in 1921 and the 9-hole layout was completed just before the publication of this expanded history in 1927. OCLC locates seven copies (Henry Ford Museum, Library of Michigan, St. Clair Co. Public, Michigan-Bentley, Michigan-Flint, Kent State, Brigham Young). Earlier club histories, also scarce, were issued in 1909 and 1912. Original gilt-stamped green cloth, top edge gilt. Very good. Item #67825
