Receipt 16.5 x 19.5 cm. Partly printed, completed in manuscript. Browned, edges uneven. Very good. Fessenden and Bailey of Medford, Massachusetts, in Middlesex County, paid the tax collector two dollars for the privilege of operating a "two wheeled carriage called a chair or (chaise?) and the harness used therefore." Levi Thaxter (1778-1857), son of Jonathan Thaxter, studied with Levi Lincoln, senator, and commenced practice as an attorney in 1803. He was the first cashier of the Worcester Bank and served as a Senator of Massachusetts from 1822 to 1826. Item #67634
