CALENDAR FOR THE TARBELL-WATTERS COMPANY, 1942

Joliet, Ill. The Gerlach-Barklow Co., [1942]. Stiff manila card stock, folded along top edge to 15 x 12.5 cm., with small calendar sheets for the year 1942, printed in black and red, stapled to the inside of the folder. A brief reminiscence of Rogers, and a greeting from George Crawford and the Tarbell-Watters Company is printed above the calendar pages. Tipped on to the front cover is a color portrait of Will Rogers, entitled "I See By the Papers," reproduced from the original painting by Antonio d'Elia. Rogers is depicted sitting in a rocking chair reading the paper, while chickens peck the ground just outside his door. The calendar folder is bound along the top with ribbon. A very good copy. Will Rogers (1879-1935) was known as "Oklahoma's Favorite Son." Item #67386
