(3) pp. Title-leaf, illustrated with a map of the Central Railroad of Georgia (9 x 11 inches), with the main lines in Georgia and Alabama in bold black and connecting lines through Mississippi, Louisiana, and Tennessee in thinner black, all with small stops for towns noted; verso of the title headed “1873 Classification of the Great Southern Freight Line, via Savannah, GA.,” printing seven dense columns of text listing all manner of goods that might be shipped, assigning each a classification number (from one to six), with text for a list of notes to some of the items and a “Table of weights” below; recto of integral leaf prints “Through Rates from New York, Via Savannah,” with three sets of a ten-column description for each of more than 300 small-town stops along the railroad routes in Georgia and the other southern states mentioned above (prices are given for each of the six classes, for each of the towns, along with the town name, state, serving railroad, and reference note numbers, where applicable). Affixed to one upper corner of the rate leaf is an errata giving “Reduction in Rates” for four towns (dated August 26th, 1873), the other corner with a presentation inscription (signed “W. Knox”). Apparently not recorded on OCLC. Old fold lines, but very good. Item #67229
