ARGUMENT FOR THE DEFENDANT: C. Brown Snyder v. H. S. McComb

Tall 8vo. 51 pp. Snyder brought suit against McComb, alleging that he had paid him for 600 shares of the Southern R.R. Association which were never delivered to him, along with several other related charges. Russell replies here with McComb’s defense. McComb (1825-1881), a Delaware businessman, was an important military contractor during the Civil War, one of those involved in the Credit Mobilier scandal during the Grant administration, owner of the Mississippi Central Railroad, developer of the town of McComb, Mississippi, and president of the Southern Railroad Association.
