M. le Comte Francois Potocki.” Courtilz de Sandras (1644-1712), French novelist, journalist, and pamphleteer, wrote a number of works (“semi-fiction”) concerning love affairs among the nobility, of which this is one (two more were published in 1685 and 1686, forming a trilogy for the reign of Louis XIV). Contemporary green morocco, boards framed by a thin triple rule, floral device at the corners, gilt title, rules and ornaments on a flat spine, gilt turn-ins and board edges, marbled endpapers, a.e.g. Front joint cracked, but an attractive copy.
