The Sons of Temperance: An Address delivered before the Mt. Horeb Division, of the Sons of Temperance, on Its Anniversary Occasion, September 21, 1848

Eutaw, AL: Printed by Samuel M. Houston, 1848. First edition. 8vo. 32 pp.; the final two pages print a roster of the Mt. Horeb Division. Taylor provides a history of the Sons of Temperance, a mutual support group founded in 1842 that promoted temperance, speaking to its “origin, progress, design, nature, and claims.” Not in Owen or Ellison. OCLC locates one copy (Samford) and only two earlier items printed in Eutaw, the local newspaper and another temperance address. Disbound pamphlet (scattered light foxing). Very good. Item #66892

Price: $750.00
