New York: The company, April 29, 1833. Folio broadside, 12 ¼ x 7 1/8 inches, a partly printed [in script] document, completed in manuscript, certifying that one Sylvester Davis, is entitled to a tract of Texas land, within the described boundaries. Signed at the end by T. L. Ogden, Daniel Jackson, and Edward Curtis as trustees and by James L. Higgins as clerk; with an undated, but near contemporary, manuscript ownership transfer on verso. “The New Arkansas and Texas land Company formed in 1832 originated from one of two grants located in the Texas Panhandle and beyond issued to the Arkansas and Texas Land Company; a grant was issued by the state of Coahuila and Texas on March 14, 1832” (Arkansas Digital Archives). This certificate not described in Streeter Bibliography of Texas. Not in Streeter sale or Eberstadt. OCLC locates two copies (Yale, Clements). Old fold lines, rubbed, darkened in a few places, but very good. Item #66702
