Goodspeed 541-436: The author had supported Jackson because of “a profound contempt & disgust for the character of J. Q. Adams.” Deals also with Van Buren, Calhoun, et al. Derby is described in the title as “late Deputy Surveyor of the Customs.”. Item #66584
