[Plymouth, MA: after April, 13, 1838]. Broadside. 30 x 16.5 cm. Toning to left margin, some chipping not affecting the text. Under the caption title are two columns of text, with 13 rules and a note to the teachers. A few notable points: No children under four admitted to any Public School District, and none under seven admitted to the male or highest female school in the Central District; List of text books to be used; List of exercises required, including the art of making pens; Discipline to be maintained through rewards and punishments, "avoiding as much as possible the infliction of corporeal punishment, except in cases of insolence...." The regulations give a good sense of the concepts of education and social instruction for the period. Item #66107
