Gives the name, rank, and regiment of approximately 200 soldiers, the Confederates in a separate list, being treated in Louisville hospitals (the important Battle of Shiloh had been fought April, 6-7). Includes other Civil War news and a long speech by George H. Yeaman, on the occasion of “raising the American flag by the citizens of Hancock County.” Yeaman (1829-1908) was serving in the Kentucky legislature at the time, but was soon elected to the U.S. Congress, serving until 1865.
