4to. 2-pages, approximately 500 words, in part: “We have fine sea breezes to fan away the hot air. A great country for fish &* game … we can have a plenty of fish all the time by going a few miles to catch them & deer are very plenty all over this country and Wild Turkies in abundance within sight of our house & the squirrels are Excellent being almost as large again as at the north … the morals in general are far behind the Northern folks & Even professions of Religion are much more given to Sabbath breaking by idle talk visiting &c &c … Billy married a girls from Florida with all Southern pride & principles worth about ten thousand dollars but she is an amiable person … I attend to the store and Post Office which occupies all my time.” Folded for mailing, but very good.
