Laid in is a partly printed deed (16 1/2 x 20 1/2 inches; long split at central fold, other wear and tear at extremities), completed in manuscript and signed by Lincklaen, November 2, 1809, selling a tract of land in Cazenovia, New York, to one Noah Joslin. Lincklaen (1768-1822) emigrated to the United States from the Netherlands in 1790, engaged as an agent for the Holland Land Company, explored central New York, and helped found the town of Cazenovia there.
