(4) pp. Partly printed publication designed to facilitate emigration form Scandinavia (Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland), printed in Swedish, this copy completed in manuscript, with farmland in Iowa emphasized; accompanied by an envelope, of blue paper self-addressed to the company. Illustrated from wood engravings, one a view of the American Emigrant Company building as part of a street scene in in lower Manhattan, across from Castle Garden, a horse-drawn trolley on State Street, and with a good bit of foot traffic, the other a view of an Iowa farmstead; the company’s 1865 charter emphasized its “purpose of procuring and assisting emigrants from foreign countries to settle in the United States.” OCLC locates one copy (Newberry).
