Tall 8vo. 2 volumes (three further volumes, written by other historians, were issued into the 20th century): lxxv, (3, blank), 342, 13, (1, errata); (2), iv, [3]-389, 22 pp. Ownership signature in volume one “Philip Brown / U.S. Legation / Guatemala”; Brown (1875-1966) served as secretary to the U.S. Legation in Guatemala, 1903-1907. Contemporary leather-backed cloth (most likely a married set, as bindings differ in color, style, and materials), marbled endpapers in volume one, gilt rules and title on spines. Very good.
