Recto advertises the four books listed, each with an illustration of its front cover and a brief description of content, binding, pagination, and number of engravings or half-tone illustrations. Verso caption title: "4 HIGH=CLASS HOLIDAY BOOKS!" Text specifically advertises the two books by Mrs. Phebe Westcott Humphreys, "Mamma's Little Sweetheart," and "What Boys and Girls Like." Illustrations on verso are from these books, including "When General Punch goes off to fight," "Fanny on the Tight Rope," "Bare Back Banner Act," and "Rosalind giving Orlando the Necklace," etc. Item #65321

The P.W. Ziegler Company was incorporated in 1898, having purchased the assets of the bankrupt Franklin News Company of Philadelphia. [Ziegler had served as President of the bankrupt company.] OCLC indicates that the two books by Phebe Westcott Humphreys were published in 1899.
