Limp leather over paper boards, gilt stamped title on front cover, with gilt stamp "Compliments of Wm. A. Pinkerton, Allan Pinkerton" in lower left corner. Leather worn through on edges and partly separated from paper boards, chipping to spine and edges. MONAGHAN 909 states a number of editions including a 42pp. one in 1915, and also a variant of that. In this pamphlet, the Pinkerton Detective Agency attempts to set the record straight with regard to the precautions it took to protect Lincoln from a rumored assassination plot en route to his first inauguration.
