First edition. 18mo. iv, [5]-36 pp. Original pale yellow printed wraps, front wrapper chipped with partial loss of title, rear wrapper torn and partly detached. Not in Sabin or Howes. The preface states that the pamphlet has been prepared "with the cooperation and at the request of several prominent Republican clubs in the city, Brooklyn, and vicinity...." Text reprints the platform of the fledgling Republican Party with much of the remainder, a section entitled "Fremont's Religion," aimed at rebutting the charge that Fremont is a Catholic. When pieced together, the back wrap comprises an advertisement for Bigelow's "Life and Public Services of Col. John C. Fremont." Item #65216
