Rockford, [IL? 1865]. Broadside, 22 X 8 cm., with small illustration of an eagle & flag motif under the "Rockford Register" line. A few shallow chips at edges, not affecting text. The "extra" announces: "We have just received the following additional despatches, confirming the glorious news of the fall of Richmond. Lee is in full flight. The End Cometh." Following, with a Buffalo April 3 dateline, are further dispatches from the Secretary of War. At the time there was a Rockford, Illinois paper called the Register.
