Tipped in at the title page of volume one and affixed to the rear endpapers of each volume are examples of an etched portrait of Cobden-Sanderson by Sidney Lawton Smith. Each volume with the engraved bookplate of Elizabeth Watson Diamond, taken from the etched portrait. Diamond and her husband J. Eduard Diamond were "avid bookplate collectors and the proprietors of Hyacinth Press, a small private press which they operated from their home in Cleveland, Ohio" (Yale archives online). Small bookplate affixed to lower portion of the Diamond bookplate in volume one, small snag in front endpaper to volume one, else very good (with the dust jacket faults noted). Original gilt-stamped decorated black cloth, printed dust jackets (rubbed, large chip in upper edge of that to volume two, other chipping to edges). (10548). Item #64198
