A JUDICIAL ORDER FOR THE SHERIFF of Tryone County to seize goods from one John Black to settle a debt with one John Price, in a partly printed document, 6 3/8 x 7 7/8 inches, headed "North-Carolina / Salisbury District / George the Third, by the Grace of God, of Great-Britain, France, and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, &c.," signed by Thomas Frohock (1735-1794), judge and clerk of superior court in Salisbury, 5 September 1772.

Salisbury District, NC: 1772. Partly printed document completed in manuscript, docketed on the verso "No goods found / Geo. Lamkin." At this time Tryon County consisted of all of Cleveland, Gaston, Lincoln, Rutherford, and Cherokee Counties and parts of Burke and McDowell Counties [along with a number of northwestern South Carolina territory]; the Salisbury District was a judicial division headquartered in Salisbury in Rowan County and included Anson, Guilford, Mecklenburg, Rowan, Surry, and Tryon Counties.
