Second separate edition, reprinted from the Southern Historical Society Papers, Vol. XX, and first published separately in 1892. 12mo. 34 pp. Illustrated from an old wood engraving. The author served as a midshipman aboard the Beaufort during the battle. Inscribed at the head of the title page by the author to William Glover Stanard, editor of the "Virginia Magazine of History and Biography," and with the author's presentation stamp on the verso of the title page. Not in Nevins or Dornbusch. Expected light wear along the spine, but very good. Original printed green wrappers (removed from a pamphlet volume). (10142). Item #63487
