Folding pocket map of Arkansas, 28 x 34 cm., the counties hand-colored in light shades of pink, green, and yellow, the state border outlined in a darker pink, enclosed in a decorative border on a 36 x 40.5 cm. sheet. Parts of Mississippi, Tennessee, Missouri and Indian Territory appear at the borders of the map. Tipped into an embossed brown cloth folder, 13 x 9 cm., lettered in gilt on the front cover: "Colton's Map of Arkansas. G.W. & C.B. Colton & Co." The front pastedown advertises maps, atlases and guide-books for sale by D.W. & C.B. Colton, successors of J.H. Colton. Short (8cm.) split along one fold, slightly affecting a letter or tow, some overall toning else very good. Railroads and common roads are depicted. Item #62827
