Includes a 70-page history of the community, a 30-page memoir in verse, a sketch of the Cahaba Rifles of the 5th Alabama Infantry with a very detailed roster, written by Capt. Charles Pegues, describing war incidents for each member of the company, and a 4-page "church history." Laid in is an autograph letter from the author (8vo, 4 pp.; 8 March 1929 from Montgomery) to Alabama book collector and historian Peter Brannan, inviting him to a meeting of the Cahaba Memorial Association and giving news of friends.
