Map and counties outlined in red, Indian reservations shown. Title on the map: "South Dakota" by E. Frank Peterson, Lake Andes, S.D., publisher of the "Illustrated Historical Atlas of South Dakota." Printed for the Kingman Investment Company, Selby, South Dakota, "the oldest real estate dealers in Walworth county...." whose advertisement of farm lands, first mortgage loans and free homesteads appears in the border area of the map. Peterson's map was used by several real estate companies to promote settlement in the state. Date is inferred from the table of corn crop yield per acre for the year 1905. A few small separations at folds of map, else a nice copy; some wear and soiling to wrappers. Item #62158
