All about the planning, design, and construction of the Stone Mountain Memorial, a Mount Rushmore-like tribute to three heroes of the Confederacy, Stonewall Jackson, Robert E. Lee, and Jefferson Davis, the largest bas-relief sculpture in the world; Borglum worked on the sculpture through 1925, and after a number of others took a hand, it was finally decreed complete in 1972. OCLC records six locations for these two numbers (Arkansas Historical Commission, Arkansas, Duke, Florida, Virginia, Library of Virginia), one with number one (Boston Public), and one with number three (Georgia).
