Mountaineer Robert L.M. Underhill's copy, with his 1926 ownership signature on the front endpaper, his pencil notes concerning the book on a rear endpaper, and several of his marginal pencil markings in the text. Underhill (1889-1983) was an "American mountaineer best known for introducing modern Alpine style rope and belaying techniques to the U.S. climbing community in the late 1920s and early 1930s" (Wikipedia); he edited the journal "Appalachia" for the Appalachian Mountain Club, 1928-1934.
