Letters, notes, cards, and related items from the Bobaks to Abe Treshinsky and his wife Barbara.

Fredericton, New Brunswick: 1992-2001. Fifteen items with nine envelopes: Two letters or notes, nine greeting cards (5 printed with Bobak art works, 4 with original drawings by him, 1 with both), one separate caricature of Bruno, one engraved invitation, two color photographs, nine envelopes, four of which bear a stamp engraved from a painting by Bruno and one from a painting by Molly. Warm and witty personal messages to a fishing friend, one by Molly and the others by Bruno, primarily about fishing (salmon and lake trout, ice fishing). Both Molly and Bruno had been official war artists for Canada, she the first woman so designated. Following World War II, they turned to other subjects and to teaching, especially in Vancouver and New Brunswick. Many Canadian private and museum collections include their paintings and drawings. The Treshinskys were booksellers from Westminster, Massachusetts. Some usual storage wear to the envelopes, the other material fine. (8875). Item #61796
