Inscribed by Linton's half-brother Alexander H. Stephens former Vice-President of the Confederacy and at the time of inscription Governor of Georgia to Joseph H. Drewry who was a 1890 graduate, Bachelor of Law, State University, Athens. "a native of Griffin, Ga., received his primary education in Griffin schools, and entered the sophomore class at Mercer university in '85. He received sophomore and junior speakers places and was senior orator, graduating in '89. He was a leading spirit at Mercer. He studied law under Congressman John D.
