"Third edition, with additions and corrections" (sheets from the 1794 Philadelphia edition, with the new Richmond title page). 12mo. xi, 330 pp. The author was a doctor stationed with the English army on Gibraltar in 1789 when the Emperor of Morocco sent a message to the garrison requesting medical attention for his son; Lempriere reached Tarudant in September and treated the prince with success. His narrative provides accounts of the Sultan's harem, diseases of Morocco and its state of medical science, the ceremonies of the royal court, and the state of Jews in Barbary. Evans 37814.
