Small 4to. 2 volumes: (10), 467; (10), [468]-838 pp. Illustrated, plates, double-page map. King Ranch business card, signed by Bob Shelton, one of the ranch family heirs, laid into volume one. Jenkins Basic Texas Books 121: "The best account of the most famous ranch in the world ... few, if any, Texas books have had such a perfect blend of text, design, and illustrations." Adams Herd 1319: "Not a single volume of this edition was sold, for all were given to friends and relatives." Reese Six Score 69: "Most exhaustive ranch history ever written, and a tremendous account of the cattle industry in south Texas." Very good.
