Inscribed in 1957 by another daughter of the subject. Thomas Logan (1840-1914), a native of Charleston, South Carolina, served through the Civil War as a cavalry officer, first in the Hampton Legion, then in other units, being promoted to brigadier general shortly before its end, commanding M.C. Butler's old brigade; after the war he engaged in the railroad business and was a principal organizer of the Southern Railway. A little browning to endpapers, else very good.
