This issue devoted to the work of the 19th-century British photographer David O. Hill (1802-1870), whose work "will continue to establish a standard of taste and style." The nine photogravures on Japanese tissue after photographs by Hill (from the photographer's original paper proofs) were printed by T.&R. Annan Sons, Glasgow, a firm noted for fine photogravures.
