Broadside map of Louisiana, 14 x 16 1/2 inches, folded to 16mo (5 x 3 1/2 inches), the parishes hand-colored in pastel shades of yellow, green, and pink, the state border in a heavier pink outline, the whole enclosed within a wide ornamental border; the front pastedown is a publisher's advertisement for "Maps, Atlases & Guide-Books." Railroads, highways and other roads, cities, towns and villages, rivers, bayous, and other streams, and canals are marked. Cover title (stamped on rear cover): "Colton's Map of Louisiana, G.W. & C.B.
