McClelland, Washington). Issued by the compiler as a "source of information desirable to a traveler when he enters a strange city": geographical description, a brief account of laws and regulations, descriptions of the major public buildings, including the Capitol and the President's House, and government services, with an appendix covering Georgetown, Alexandria, and Mount Vernon. Cover title: "Daguerreotype of Washington." Sabin 92783. OCLC locates 14 copies, including three in Washington, D.C. (Library of Congress, George Washington, American), but no others in the South.
