With nearly 800 entries, covering more than 2000 drawings, 121 reproduced in monochrome and 21 color plates. (3) BRITISH SPORTING AND ANIMAL PAINTINGS, 1655-1867. A catalogue compiled by Judy Egerton. With 382 entries, together with 43 color plates and 120 full-page monochrome illustrations. (4) BRITISH SPORTING AND ANIMAL PRINTS, 1658-1874. A catalogue compiled by Dudley Snelgrove. With over 200 artists represented in the entries, 25 color plates, and 114 reproduced in monochrome. Original publisher's red cloth; black and gilt spine labels; small gilt illustration on front boards. A very nice, clean set in dust jackets with a bit of wear and some shallow chipping. (#7844).
