With the engraved bookplates of Hon. Charles Hope Weir of Craigie Hall & Blackwood, with a Craigie Hall Library location label, and Hon. Hew Dalrymple. Weir (1710-1791) was a Scottish politician, a Member of Parliament, 1743-1769; Dalrymple (1750-1830) was a British army general in the campaigns of the 1790s and Governor of Gibraltar, 1806-1808. Lowndes I, p. 209: "An amusing piece of autobiography, written by a common sailor." Persistent light foxing, but a very good copy.
