Purchasing shot and gun worms, as recorded in a partly printed document, completed in manuscript 2 November 1874 by George Barrett of Barrett & Castlen [with Castlen's name marked through] in Macon, Georgia, made out to another local company, Carhart & Hurd.

Macon, GA: Barrett & Castlen, 1874. Printed billhead, 7 x 8 1/2 inches, employing several syles and sizes of type and illustrated with a sporting montage (1 1/2 x 2 1/4 inches) made up of a crossed rife and shotgun, pistols, shot and powder pouches, and a retriever in a field with bird in mouth, recording October, 1874, sales to Carhart for 3 pounds of shot, 2 1/2 dozen gun worms (for cleaning barrels) and for providing sharpening services. Barrett & Castlen are described on the billhead as "dealers in shot guns, rifles, pistols, and gun material." Very good. Folded as for filing. (#6089). Item #59111
