The four drawings appear to have been framed at some point, with quarter-inch browned strips along the edges of two and a uniform browned oval area on the first drawing. Both "The Black Forest" and the "Okome Mountains" are included within Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, near present-day Tidaghton State Forest, about 60 miles northwest of Tamaqua. We have been unable to further identify any of the participants in this charming series of cartoon-like drawings celebrating Capt. Carroll as a heroic bear hunter.
