San Franciso, (CA): Published by Warren Holt, 1881. Broadside map, 92 x 76 cm., state borders with hand-coloring, all set within an ornamental border. Inset maps "Judicial Districts of California" and "U.S. Land Districts." Cover title: "Holt's Township Map of California and Nevada." Contemporary ownership signature on the front pastedown "D. McClure Jr. / Oakland, Cal." "Shows drainage, counties, U.S. land districts, townships, railroads (existing and proposed), railroad right-of-ways, military posts, etc. … includes list of judicial districts, index of land districts, and inset of 'Elevation above the sea of some of the principal mountains in California and Nevada'" (OCLC). This map was issued at least eight times during the years 1869-1883; the 1881 edition appears in four copies on OCLC (Clements, Yale, California-Berkeley, Nevada-Reno), with all editions showing up in only a handful of copies. Streeter sale 3930, 3939, and 3941 (for the 1869, 1873, and 1875 editions). Eberstadt 106: 57, 58, and 58a (for the 1873, 1875, and 1876 editions).
