The Virginia photographs date from the mid-1890s and include views of historic buildings, hotels (Hygeia at Fortress Monroe and Princess Anne at Virginia Beach), nautical scenes, including ships, the beach (horseback riding on the strand) and waterfront piers, and private homes and churches, ending with images of the monuments to George Washington and Stonewall Jackson in Richmond. Some fading to images, but an excellent photographic tour. Original half-leather and gilt-stamped pebbled cloth album (spine completely eroded, corners bumped). (#5331). Item #58332
