Amateur photographer’s family and individual portraits, preserved in a small collection of 20 unused realphoto postcards, all circa 1910, picturing unidentified babies, children, adults, small family groups, and two large gatherings, one probably a family reunion, the other apparently a school student body; accompanied by an unused real-photo postcard of a very long covered bridge crossing a stream with hills and woods in the distance

Portraits on ten of the cards are enclosed within ornamental borders; the subjects are posed in front of clapboard farm buildings outdoors or indoors in front of quilts and coverlets. One photograph pictures a young horsewoman mounted side-saddle (light ink smears above her head); one image is a duplicate. Several images are faded, several a little spotted or rubbed, most are foxed on the verso, but a very good lot. (#2388). Item #58261
