Rich, striking images of St. Augustine's architecture, commercial district, hotels, beach fronts, fort, African-American business district and residential area, vegetation, and inhabitants. The photographer of this St. Augustine, Florida, album selected a variety of views of the city and its immediate surroundings: beautiful shots of the luxury hotels, a bird's-eye view of the fort, street scenes of the business districts with trolley tracks and horse-drawn carriages, lush landscapes of public and private gardens, palmettos, marsh, and a pineapple field. Of particular interest are an elaborate tree house with spiral staircase, built in a mossladen live oak, and four photographs portraying the city's African-American residents, one showing their business district with shoppers in the street, one of a wooden shack on stilts with a thatched roof, its residents sitting outside, and two of workers on rural roads.
