NP: np, 1888. Campaign broadside for the 1888 presidential election, 22 x 22 inches, printed in red on cream cloth, with red stitched borders and red decorative ornaments in the corners. Cleveland and Thurman, a U.S. Senator from Ohio, ran together on the Democratic Party ticket in Cleveland's unsuccessful campaign for re-election in 1888; they received more of the popular vote than did the winners, Benjamin Harrison and Levi Morton, but did not win a majority of the electoral votes. Cf. Collins' Threads of History 617 for a copy on silk. Folded; image moderately faded, some light soiling and discoloration of the cream cloth, a few small breaks in the cloth, but a good example.
