PROMULGATING THE DECREE OF THE MEXICAN CONGRESS OF 4 JUNE 1845, "providing, first that the Mexican nation call all her sons to the defense of the national independence threatened by the annexation of Texas to the United States, and secondly, that the government place under arms all the forces of the army authorized by existing laws" (Streeter). [Dated at end: Guadalajara, 15 June 1845].

Broadside reprinting of the three-page original, 12 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches. The original, signed in type by President Jose Joaquin de Herrera, was issued in Mexico, 4 June 1845, then reprinted and issued by governors for various states (Streeter locates one for the state of Mexico). Cf. Streeter 1021 and 1021a and Streeter sale 388 for other editions. This edition apparently not recorded on OCLC. Folded (short tears in fold). Some wear along left edge, color pencil underlining through part of the text, blue pencil "1845" at head of text, owner's stamp on verso. (3738). Item #56370
